Scope

This document specifies the methods for determination of the rebound of sprayed concrete (mortar), in lab standard conditions, and on the actual structure site. This document does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this document to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

Purpose

Engineering and the reinforcement of structures. Currently, the sprayed concrete technology has been widely applied in fields such as tunnel engineering, mine roadways, and slope protection. Its construction quality directly affects the safety and service life of the projects. With the continuous expansion of infrastructure construction, the requirements for the construction quality and efficiency of sprayed concrete are also increasingly high. The rebound ratio is one of the key indicators for measuring the construction quality of sprayed concrete. An excessively high rebound ratio not only causes material waste and increases construction costs, but also affects the compactness and strength of the concrete. Justification: In practical engineering applications, the control of the rebound ratio of sprayed concrete is an important part of construction quality management. Currently, different construction units adopt significantly different test methods, resulting in the lack of comparability and accuracy of test results, making it difficult to conduct scientific and effective evaluation and control of construction quality. This not only affects the control of project quality but also hinders technical exchanges and development within the industry. Especially under complex geological conditions, the accurate testing of the rebound rate is particularly crucial for ensuring the construction quality of sprayed concrete. So far there is no ISO standard for the test methods of the rebound ratio of sprayed concrete. Therefore, it is imperative to establish a scientific and standardized standard system for the test methods of the rebound ratio of sprayed concrete. This will provide a technical basis for the construction quality control of sprayed concrete and is of great significance for improving the construction technology level of sprayed concrete and ensuring the quality and safety of projects.
