Scope

This part of BS 8486 specifies one means of determining conformity to the provisions for examination, testing and recording results of a, Two-way communication system to contact a rescue service, in lifts, according to BS EN 81-28:2026, before being put into service.

Purpose

This new standard introduces technical changes and new technologies, necessitating the development of a new testing standard. This will enable installers and approved bodies to verify new lift installations' conformity of the Two- way communication system to contact .
