Scope

This document specifies general requirements for connecting links grade 10 primarily for use in chain slings, steel wire rope slings, textile slings intended for lifting purposes. The standard does not apply to hand forged connecting links.

Purpose

The purpose of this proposal is to specify general technical requirements for components for slings of grade 10 (connecting links) intended primarily for use in lifting applications, including chain slings, steel wire rope slings, and textile slings. The document aims to establish a uniform technical basis to ensure safety, reliability, and functional compatibility of these components used in lifting assemblies.

The proposal focuses on controlled industrial manufacturing processes and defines requirements applicable to their intended lifting purposes.
