Extraction forceps are widely used in dentistry and require harmonized international requirements and test methods to ensure consistent quality and safety. This document will specify requirements and test methods for reusable extraction forceps used in dentistry, in conjunction with ISO 4865-1. It will also support the ongoing restructuring of dental hand instrument standards from the ISO 9173 series into the ISO 4865 series.
