Scope

A need for updating became apparent as the document has been from 2005 and is referenced in EN 13501-1. New insights and a review of old guidance has been conducted of which some unclear guidance has been removed and replaced.

Purpose

Compare the rules given in 15725 (EN 15725:2023-08 - Extended application on the fire performance of construction products and building elements: principle of EXAP standards and EXAP reports) to this TS. Several items to consider have been discussed at the meeting, these will be further discussed in the next meetings. One open question is whether the rules for linear or logarithmic correlations are used and if experience is available. It was discussed how it can be handled for classification if the worst case for the small burner is different from the worst case in the SBI. It was also clarified that EN 13501-1 will overrule the TS if other rules are fixed there. Also discussed the proposal regarding rules regarding colours.
