With the creation of the second-generation Eurocodes, there is now a requirement to update BS8002:2015 to ensure compatibility with the new Eurocodes.
BS8002 is an invaluable source of information and guidance for designers. In its current form it combines the design aspects of the Eurocodes, together with the guidance from industry sources such as CIRIA 760 and the ICE Manual of Geotechnical Engineering. There is advice on parameter choice as well as design methods and information relating to practical matters such as drainage.
It covers both gravity and embedded retaining walls and as such this extensive collection of recommendations and guidance needs to be updated to align with the content in the Eurocodes.
