Revision of EN 12547:2014 to align with EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 and update safety requirements.
The systematic review of EN 12547:2014 resulted in confirmation; however, the entry into force of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 on machinery requires existing machinery safety standards to be reviewed and revised. In addition, the systematic review generated substantial technical comments identifying outdated normative references and aspects where the standard no longer reflects the state of the art. The proposed revision aims to align EN 12547 with the Machinery Regulation, update normative references, address identified safety gaps, and maintain its suitability for future harmonization, without changing the scope.
