Scope

The new standard will provide recommendations and guidance for the implementation of ISO/IEC 27701 in the UK. It will support organisations in applying ISO/IEC 27701 in a way that aligns with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and ICO expectations. It will be a code of practice and implementation guide, rather than a standalone management system specification.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to provide practical UK guidance on the implementation of ISO/IEC 27701 so that organisations can apply privacy information management in a way that is consistent with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and ICO expectations. It is intended to support effective, consistent and proportionate implementation across organisations of different sizes and sectors.
