Standards Development
(1) EN 1993-6 provides rules for structural design of crane supporting structures.
(2) EN 1993-6 is applicable to crane supporting structures, especially to indoor and outdoor overhead crane runway beams.
(3) Additional rules are given for ancillary runway items including crane rails, structural end stops, surge connectors and surge girders and for runway supporting structures.
This amendment corrects technical and editorial points in EN 1993-6:2026 to improve the clarity and user-friendliness. The design recommendations given in Annex A are extended to rails without elastomeric bearing pads.
