Scope

This work is in reply to Standardisation Request M/619, asking for a revision of EN 63000:2018. Since that EN is based on IEC 63000:2016, but does not include AMD1:2022, the proposed work is the following: - adoption of IEC 63000/AMD1:2022 - update of the normative references - common modifications according to M/619, i.e. clarify the cases where tests results are required for the assessment of the product with respect to the restriction of hazardous substances.

Purpose

This works is intended to bring the standard in line with latest developments in related standards, clarify the link between the required elements of the technical file and the risk assessment. The revised standard should better contribute to the objective of Directive 2011/65/EU, which is the protection of human health and environment. It should also help reducing hazardous waste and facilitate material recovery.
