Scope

In scope are all electronic and electrotechnical products and systems (EEPS). This PWI will evaluate the necessity for a technical specification in regard to the identification of relevant ecodesign requirements and how to utilize so-called product category rules (or product specific rules) then for an consistent assessment of these requirements. E.g. for material (EN 4555X standards series) and/or environmental impact assessments (ISO 14040/44, 14067, Product Environmental Footprint).

Purpose

Key for these aforementioned assessments are the underlying scenarios for the life cycle stages, which need to be consistent for a robust and meaningful assessment. The to be elaborated specification can support a structured, systematic and consistent approach. Further, it will provide guidance to vertical TCs on how to develop respective PSRs. It would then establish a link to the REGULATION (EU) 2024/1781 considering Commission Recommendation (EU) 2021/2279 and therefore support a harmonized market in context to environmentally related information provision.
