This document specifies requirements for chemical and physical properties, and minimum performance requirements of wetting agents for the preparation of firefighting foams suitable for the control, extinguishment and prevention of reignition of Class A fires according to EN 2.
This document does not specify requirements for firefighting foam agents for the preparation of firefighting foams suitable for application on Class A or Class B fires.
Firefighting foam agents for use on Class B fires are subject to EN 1568 Series. Currently there are no wetting agents standardized for Class A fires. CEN/TC 191/WG 3 proposes to draft a standard with requirements for Class A wetting agents based on EN 1568 series and EN 3-7.
This proposal aims to establish standardized requirements on European level for Class A wetting agents.
