This document provides requirements and test methods for the measurement of power loss and control circuit power consumption of circuit-breakers and similar equipment for household use such as circuit - breakers, RCCBs, RCBOs, AFDDs, POPs and electromechanic al contactors.
The measured values can notably be used for the implementation of the IEC 63XXX -1 (Product Specific Rules for electrical accessories) standard.
Document IEC 63172 provides the general requirements and test methods applicable to accessories within the scope of the TC23 for which the electrical energy is flowing through them. Due to the specificities and various technologies used for circuit -breakers and similar equipment for household use, it has been estimated that specific test methods should be given in a separate document.
