Scope

This part of ISO 6194 contains test procedures and typical properties of common elastomeric materials used for rotary shaft lip-type seals.

Purpose

This standard advises users on usable materials for rotary shaft lip-type seals. The standard thus helps to increase the safety of technical systems, as even inexperienced users are able to select a suitable sealing material. In addition, this standard provides seal manufacturers with an overview of the properties that a suitable sealing material should have. (Please use this field or attach an annex)
