Scope

This part of IEC 60034 defines criteria for assessing the insulation system of stator/rotor windings which that are specified and designed to be sealed against moisture ingress. This International Standard describes tests which can be used for quality control and type tests(when specified) of stator winding insulation valid for single or polyphase AC and DC rotating electrical machines with a voltage up to 16,5 kV.

Purpose

This document describes testing for sealed windings which is also described in NEMA MG1 and the API industry. I was previously registered in IEC but was deleted as it ran out of time. Resolution of comments from the last CD is enclosed.
