Scope

This part of IEC 60092 is applicable to ship-to-shore connection cables to supply the ship with electrical power from shore. The cables are composed of power cores, earth cores, pilot cores and optical fibres (optional), having a voltage rating of one of the following: 0,6/1(1,2) kV, 1,8/3(3,6) kV, 3,6/6 (7,2) kV, 6/10 (12) kV, 8,7/15 (17,5) kV, 12/20 (24) kV, 18/30 (36) kV.

The cables are intended for frequent flexing use.

Purpose

The purpose of this proposal is to develop standard of ship -to-shore connection cables as one of IEC 60092 serials standards for electric cables for ships and mobile and fixed offshore units. The ship -to-shore cable is designed to connect the shore power grid to ships anchored at docks. Its main function is to provide power supply for docked ships to meet the power needs of internal equipment and systems. IEC/IEEE 80005-1 and IEC/IEEE 80005-3 only specify the basic requirements for ship-to-shore connection cables, which is not conducive to standardizing the design and manufacturing of ship -to-shore connection cables.
