This document provides guidelines on the selection and application of tools and techniques in the implementation of Six Sigma, Lean, and Lean Six Sigma.
This document can be used in any sector of activities and any size business seeking to gain continuous improvement for excellence in Process, Product and service.
The purpose of this proposed project is to provide unified, globally recognized guidelines for the selection, application, and integration of tools and techniques within Six Sigma, Lean, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. It aims to establish a common framework that enables organizations of all types, sizes, and sectors to effectively deploy these process improvement methodologies to enhance operational performance, drive sustainable growth, and contribute to broader societal goals. Nowadays companies use Lean and Six Sigma in many different ways. The absence of a unified global guideline leads to inconsistent practices, variable results, and barriers to effective collaboration. This standard addresses this gap by establishing a universal framework and common language for selecting and applying tools, which will enhance reliability, improve training quality, and make these methodologies more accessible to organizations of all sizes.
Although ISO 13053-2:2011 was previously published, it only addresses the tools and techniques for Six Sigma. Due to significant changes in the name, scope, and standard system of ISO/TC69/SC7, this new proposed project has undergone considerable change in both scope and structure compared to the 13053-2:2011, with expanded content covering Lean and Lean Six Sigma.
