This document applies to the cast steel three-piece bogies for railway freight cars. This document specifies the technical requirements of the cast steel three -piece bogie and its components for railway freight cars.

This document applies to all the relevant parties of a cast steel three-piece bogie for railway freight cars, including the designer, manufacturer and operator.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to standardize the cast steel three -piece bogies for railway freight service all around the world:

- Main structure

- Basic requirements

- Technical requirements

- Test methods

- Test rules

The cast steel three-piece freight car bogies have been popularly used in China, North America, South America, Oceania, Asia, Africa and other places, and there are some differences among those cast steel three-piece bogies used in difference countries, such as the structure, material and other aspects. Based on the existing standards and the practical experience, this standard will set the main structure, basic requirements, technical requirements, test methods and test rules of the cast steel three-piece freight bogies and the relevant components, which is good for the uniformity of the products and the requirements and provides directives of the development and manufacturing of the bogie all around the world.
