Scope
This proposed standard specifies normative references, terms and definitions, rating requirements, rating methods and minimum data requirements for published ratings of sound and vibration of positive displacement refrigerant compressors. This standard applies to positive displacement refrigerant compressors and their presentation of rating in air-conditioning, heating, refrigeration, and dehumidification applications. Single stage, two-stage, and refrigerant-injected compressors without intermediate temperature load (only one evaporator) are included in this standard. Subcritical operation and transcritical operation are included in this standard.
Purpose
The comprehensive comfort of living environment affected by heat comfort, light comfort and sound comfort. According to the statistics, the noise of home appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators accounts for 37.0% of the noise in social life, which greatly affects indoor comfort. And as the core component, the positive displacement refrigerant compressors play an important role in this. Another issue is that for the compressor vibration, it is the main load of stress and strain to the system pipes during the operation and it’s bound up with sound and noise also. During the operation of the compressors, the pipes are affected by the continued and accumulate input strain and when they reach to the fatigue limit, it can be assumed that fatigue will occur and cause the operation failure of the system. At present, there are no relevant rating standard under ISO TC 86/SC 4. Therefore, it`s proposed to stipulate the rating of sound and vibration for the positive displacement refrigerant compressors. It will help guide companies to improve product to a stable levels and improve the adaptation and preselection between the compressor manufacturers and the, as well as conducive to market supervision and therefore protecting the legitimate rights and interests of consumers and promoting the green and friendly development of the industry.
