Scope

This part of IEC 61558 deals with the safety of switch mode power supply units and transformers for switch mode powersupply units.

Purpose

Having in mind that EN IEC 61558-2-16:2025 is not harmonized/listed under the 2014/35/EU LVD (Low Voltage Directive) according of missing Annex ZZ this Amendment A11 will cover the gap. The issue of this purely European Amendment is to provide a sufficient Annex ZA/ZZ to achieve the positive assessment from the HAS consultant for the listing under the LVD according the SReq given to the CENELEC to provide manufacturers the possibility of conformity presumption according to the LVD.
