Scope
The method calculates volumetric and caloric properties of natural gases, manufactured fuel gases, and similar mixtures, at conditions where the mixture is in the homogeneous (single-phase) fluid state. Properties such as hydrocarbon dew point are unlikely to be calculated accurately.
Purpose
This part specifies a method to calculate thermodynamic properties at a known temperature and pressure, from a knowledge of two properties (gross calorific value and relative density are recommended) and the mole fraction of carbon dioxide. The method is also applicable to gases containing hydrogen and in such cases the mole fraction of hydrogen must also be known.
