Scope

International Standard for the performance criterion for uncoupling membranes/matting which will differentiate these types of membranes from other membranes such as crack isolation, waterproof and sound attenuation membranes.

Purpose

There are now many diverse types of membranes that are now being called “Uncoupling Membranes/Matting,” and they do not all perform in the same manner and, in some cases, have had poor performance records with many failures. This standard will allow the end-user to determine which membrane they should select which will have the performance criterion for a successful installation.
