Scope

This document specifies the product classification, technical requirements and test methods for spring clasps in jewellery. This document applies to the spring clasps in jewellery.

Purpose

As an essential connecting component in jewellery, spring clasps enjoy a steady and potentially growing market demand. Due to variations in production processes and raw materials, there are significant quality disparities among such products. Standardization is urgently needed to promote the high-quality development of the precious metal industry.

1 Unify product quality requirements and maintain market order

The materials and durability of spring clasps on the market vary significantly, with inferior products prone to breaking or deformation.

Firstly, this standard will facilitate the refinement of the product layout within the jewellery industry, increasing the styles and varieties of component products, thereby highlighting the texture and decorative elements of the main jewellery pieces and enriching consumer choices in the jewellery market.

Secondly, it will reduce the influx of inferior products into the market, lowering the costs associated with returns or after-sales services due to component failures, and boosting consumer confidence. Manufacturers can produce spring clasps in bulk based on the standard, reducing the need for customization, lowering the frequency of production line adjustments and inventory complexity, thus saving costs and minimizing delays or waste caused by mismatched specifications.

This standard specifies the technical requirements for spring clasps, providing a reference basis for manufacturers to improve product quality, enhance consumer confidence, reduce consumer disputes arising from such issues, and maintain market order.

2 The need for industrial upgrading to meet standardization requirements for spring clasps Despite variations in production processes, raw materials, and consequently product quality, this project already possesses an industrial background and production foundation. Numerous enterprises internationally specialize in the production of spring clasps, providing feasibility for the formulation of this standard.

Spring clasps for jewellery, as crucial connecting components, enjoy a broad application market. They primarily include categories such as round clasps, lobster clasps, fishhook clasps, series-9 clasps, pearl clasps, etc. The fineness, shape, and the number of spring opening and closing cycles have become significant considerations. Formulating international standards for spring clasps is conducive to enhancing technological innovation and accessory improvements, elevating performance indicators and styles, enhancing the texture and aesthetic appeal of jewellery products, and stimulating market consumption.

In summary, it is strongly recommended to expedite the formulation of international standards that stipulate unified product parameters to facilitate product trade.
