Scope

This document specifies guidelines and requirements for the ITS facility layer service "Facilities service handler" (FSH).

Purpose

This multipart standard 24854 is dedicated to ITS facilities layer services.

Part 1 of this multipart standard 24854 provides the basic architecture of ITS facilities layer services and general requirements, applicable for parts 2 through 6 of 24854. So far, three facilities layer services (“communication profile handler”, “content subscription handler”, and “facilities service handler”) are specified in ISO/TS 17429:2017. Parts 2, 3, and 4 of this multipart standard 24854 are dedicated to these three facilities layer services from ISO/TS 17429:2017, and will replace ISO/TS 17429:2017.

Part 5 of this multipart standard 24854 is dedicated to ITS message sets. ITS message sets are uniquely identified by a Message Set Identifier ITS-MsgSetID specified in ISO 17419. Technical details on message sets, i.e. how to create and use them, are still missing. First values of ITS-MsgSetID are already assigned, thus the technical details are urgently needed. Part 6 of this multipart standard 24854 is dedicated to the new ITS facilities layer service “segmentation at the ITS facilities layer”
