Scope

This document specifies a method for the titrimetric determination of the ammoniacal nitrogen content in inorganic fertilizers (including compound fertilizers), in which nitrogen is found exclusively either in the form of ammonium salts or ammonium salts together with nitrates. This document is not applicable to fertilizers containing urea, cyanamide, nutrient polymers or other organic nitrogenous compounds.

Purpose

In the frame of standardization request M/564 and its amendments harmonized standards shall refer to test methods to be applied for verifying the conformity of CE marked fertilizing products with the requirements set out in Regulation (EU) 2019/1009. This European Standard deals with the titrimetric determination of ammoniacal nitrogen in inorganic fertilizers and should be revised to support Regulation (EU) 2019/1009.
