This European Standard specifies common basic principles for gas infrastructure. Users of this European Standard are expected to be aware that more detailed national standards and/or codes of practice can exist in the CEN member countries. This European Standard is intended to be applied in association with these national standards and/or codes of practice setting out the above-mentioned basic principles.
This proposal intends
- to generally revise the technical provisions for pipelines with maximum operation pressure up to and including 16 bar for the state of the art
- to support the decarbonisation of the energy grid and the establishment of the future hydrogen grid by providing the appropriate technical provisions for the topic
- to ensure safety over the different stages of life-cycle of the hydrogen grid.
- to adapt the document to climate requirements in line with EC policy for adaptation to climate change
