Scope

See Section 3.

Purpose

• The definition of LPG needs to be revised to clarify what LPG is today. This position is due to be clarified at meeting of CEN/TC 286 convenors later this year before revisions can take place in individual standards.

• EN 549:1994 has been replaced and the newer version of the standard has introduced limits on the acceptable swelling during the immersion test of rubber components that do not accommodate existing components that are entirely suitable for LPG. Section 5.3 of EN 13175:2019+A1:2020 will need to be revised in detail to suit both existing rubber components and any future components anticipated.

 • Inclusion of key environmental and climate change requirements for each of the sections on design, manufacture, packaging etc. by referencing CEN/TS 16765.

 • Many normative references within the document are now out of date and need to be updated.
