The result of this verification is pass or fail by comparing statistical key parameters to defined limits. The result is not a measurement uncertainty, thus cannot be used for further measurement uncertainty calculation or considerations such as comparison of measurement results or metrological traceability.
This document is applicable to type tests for a possible offset (bias) and repeatability, including an option to consider the effect of influence quantities. Therefore, this document provides a two -step method. However, the presented statistical method is conceivable for other pass or fail decisions
Coming from the development of a new version of IEC 61557 -12 and the new subsequent document
IEC 61557-12-2 for testing in TC85/WG20, the need for a more general statistical method in
performance class verification was identified.
In the context of functional type tests, the intention is to establish a clear and common
understanding of terminology, unambiguous instructions and recommendations for action in
practice.
