IEC 117/222/NP Solar thermal electric plants – Part 2-3: Protocol for testing sensible and latent thermal energy storage prototypes

Scope

This standard specifies the main key thermal performance indicators of sensible and latent thermal energy storage prototypes in order to be able to fairly compare their advantages and disadvantages for a specific application. This standard also includes the protocols to quantify these key thermal performance indicators in a systematic and reproducible way.

Purpose

Currently no international standard exists intended for thermal energy storage prototypes, where the limited size takes special relevance, nor for both sensible and latent so their thermal behaviours can be fairly comparable.
