Scope

This document specifies a method applicable to inorganic fertilizers for the extraction with diluted mineral acid of total calcium, total magnesium and total sodium and for the extraction of total sulfur present in the form of sulfates, so that the same extract may be used for the determination of each nutrient required.

Purpose

In the frame of standardization request M/564 and its amendments harmonized standards shall refer to test methods to be applied for verifying the conformity of CE marked fertilizing products with the requirements set out in Regulation (EU) 2019/1009. This European Standard deals with the extraction of total calcium, total magnesium, total sodium and total sulfur in the forms of sulfates in inorganic fertilizers and should be revised to support Regulation (EU) 2019/1009.
