Following the Paris Agreement and the ISO London Declaration, the transition to eco-friendly boats has begun.
HDPE is an ideal material for use in small crafts. It is recyclable and provides sufficient strength for small boat applications. With a density of less than 1, it ensures excellent unsinkability when used in vessels, enhancing safety in maritime accidents.
While there are some domestic and classification rules for HDPE boats, there is currently no international standard, and some information is either insufficient or conflicting.
The proposed standard aims to establish a foundation for boat builders, material manufacturers, and boat owners by providing essential information and promoting the development of eco-friendly boats
