Scope

This document specifies how a preliminary welding procedure specification is qualified by welding procedure tests. This document applies to material manufactured using a welding process with wire feedstock. This document defines the conditions for the execution of welding procedure tests and the range of qualification for welding procedures for all practical welding operations within the qualification of this document. This document applies to automatic welding using process 13 (gas-shielded metal arc welding) and process subgroups as defined in ISO 4063:2023.

Purpose

Draft Resolution 19/2023
ISO/TC 44/SC 10 noted a presentation from Mr Walter Sperko, on NWIP for a new part of the ISO
15614 series (documents N 1977 and N 1983). This topic is of interest to many members, so it is good
to have a progress on this work. SC 10 asks the ISO/TC 44 secretariat to contact ISO/TC 261 “Additive
manufacturing” regarding the creation of a JWG between ISO/TC 44 and ISO/TC 261 for developing
this project. If ISO/TC 261 have no interest on this project, SC 10 will continue alone.
Unanimously approved.
