AAL systems are developed based on the needs of the AAL user as specified in the use cases. Once developed AAL systems are evaluated to ensure that the individual parts as well as the complete system meet the applicable standards and regulations.
IEC SRD 63219 provides guidance for AAL service providers to develop AAL systems. IEC SRD 63473 establishes criteria for mapping standards from use cases to AAL systems and components.
This document establishes criteria for implementing the requirements of IEC SRD 63219 and IEC SRD 63473.
This document also establishes conformity assessment criteria.
This document is applicable to AAL Service providers, AAL Service organizations, and to 1st, 2nd or 3rd Conformity Assessment bodies.
AAL System Committee WG3 “General specifications, Quality and Conformity assessment” have developed two documents that explain the AAL system development process and the standards inventory and mapping process:
• IEC SRD 63219: 2022 Active assisted living (AAL) system development guidance for AAL service providers
• IEC SRD 63473:2024 “Active assisted living (AAL) use case standards inventory and mapping
However, a document is needed to explain how these two SRD’s can be used together to develop an AAL system and to develop conformity assessment criteria to ensure that the AAL system meets its objectives.
The document will be applicable to AAL Service providers, AAL Service organizations, and to 1st, 2nd or 3rd Conformity Assessment bodies
