This method is applicable to synthetic fabric and synthetic/natural blended fabric
- Synthetic/cellulosic fabrics (e.g. PET/Cotton, Nylon/Cotton, Acrylic/Cotton)
- Synthetic/protein fabrics (e.g. PET/Wool, Nylon/Wool, Acrylic/Wool)
The purpose of this document is to provide a method of assessment, through laboratory methods, to measure the emission of certain synthetic materials from some types of fabrics which are generally known fibre compositions. The information gathered from this document can be utilized by the textile industry for the development of textile articles to reduce or minimize shedding synthetic materials from textile articles through the washing process.
