It forms an extension to EN 12811-1, which specifies the basic requirements for six different load classes of access platform. This Draft for development also specifies test methods.
For materials not covered by an appropriate design standard, this Draft for Development contains information for their use.
While the draft is principally about platforms and platform units, it also gives information on preventing their dislodgement. It considers both individual components and the assembled access area.
This draft for development was withdrawn in 2012, however, upon review the committee have proposed revising this and publishing a new version as a BS standard. While withdrawn, compliance to DD 7995 can still be claimed and the draft covers areas that are not standardized elsewhere including impact tests, and the draft is referred to in CEN standards (EN 12841 and EN 12810-1). References and minor updates would also need to be completed if the proposal is approved.
