Scope

This document specifies the terms and definitions, main processes, technical requirements, and management requirements for design optimization of mechanical products. This document is applicable to general guidance in the preparation and practice of design optimization of mechanical products, provides guidance in the technical training, software development, engineering application for mechanical products design.

Purpose

This document is intended to be used for general guidance in the preparation and practice of mechanical design optimization, which provide guidance in the technical training, software development, engineering application of optimize techniques. It is also intended to be used for reference in production, manufacturing, and technical decision-making. Mechanical products design optimization has been developed gradually and widely applied at present. Problems, such as lack of top-level guidance and lack of general workflow, occurred due to the lack of standards in industry. Optimize techniques has achieved a lot in application, If standardization can be can be supplemented, the benefits are obvious, communication and cooperation between institutes can be easy, and work efficiency can be greatly improved. In fact, standards along this kind have been already applied in many industry sectors. Thus the foundation of standardization has been well established.
