LNG (liquefied natural gas) road tanker loading and unloading skid is the core equipment of LNG receiving Terminal, which is a necessary equipment for LNG road tanker transportation. Its function is to load or unload LNG between LNG road tanker and LNG receiving Terminal. At present, there are no substantive international standards to guide design, manufacturing, inspection, and testing internationally. Instead, relevant ISO standards such as pipeline valves, instruments, and swivel joints are referred to as the technical requirements for the loading and unloading skids of LNG Road tanker. Owners and engineering companies mainly choose equipment based on practical engineering application experience. The industry's modular, intelligent, and digital technologies are developing rapidly, and there is an urgent need for a standard as the basis for production manufacturing, engineering applications, equipment selection, inspection and testing, and drawing delivery. In ISO system it includes ISO 16904 for LNG marine unloading arms(used for LNG sea transportation) and ISO 5124 for LNG railcar loading and unloading (used for LNG railcar transportationDIS).There is a lack of ISO standards for LNG road tanker Loading & Unloading(used for LNG road transportation). Through the customization and implementation of this standard, the core equipment in the LNG industry will be standardized, optimizing equipment structure, reducing equipment investment, reducing equipment energy consumption, and greatly improving economic efficiency without affecting safety and reliability. Through the preparation of this standard, the gap will be filled, laying the foundation for the standardization, modularization, and intelligent design and manufacturing of the skid and leading the intelligent development and digital transformation of LNG equipment.
