Scope

To define a method for the determination and to set a limit for the acceptable leakage of mercury vapour from pre-capsulated dental amalgam capsules to be included as a new requirement in ISO 20749 "Dentistry - Pre-capsulated dental amalgam"

Purpose

It has been reported and verified that mercury vapour leaks from amalgam capsules despite the intention that they be sealed.
