Scope

This document defines terms and establishes classifications, characteristics and marking requirements for multilayer ceramic tiles, consisting of a ceramic tile with a surface area equal or greater than 7x7 cm combined with a material glued on its back with an adhesive.

Purpose

For several years, this type of product has been commercially available without a specific ISO, EN or regional standard despite their significant sales volumes. In addition to this, ISO/CD 10545-24:2024 addresses the tensile adhesion between the cementitious adhesive and the fiberglass-combined multilayer ceramic tile, despite the absence of a product standard. Additional information is available in the document attached.
