PNW 51-1512 ED1: Magnetic powder cores Guidelines on dimensions and limits of surface irregularities - Part 9: Ellipse-cores

Scope

This part of IEC 63182 specifies the dimensions that are of importance for mechanical interchangeability for a preferred range ellipse-cores made of metallic magnetic power and gives guidelines on allowable limits of surface irregularities applicable to ellipse-cores.

This document is a specification useful in the negotiations between magnetic power core manufactures and customers about surface irregularities.

Purpose

IEC63182-9 is a part of IEC63182 standard series which specifies the dimensions and the limits of surface irregularities for ellipse-cores made of soft magnetic materials. Ellipse-cores have the advantages of simple structure, easy to be manufactured, easy to heat dissipation, and easy to lead out the thick winding wire. Therefore, ellipse-cores are widely used, especially in the field of high voltage and high power applications, the production and sales of the cores are very large. Developing this standard is conducive to the establishment of a more perfect standard system for powder cores, to improve the technical and quality level of related products, and to promote their production and trade.
