Scope

The NA gives national choices on Nationally Determined Parameters as described in EN 1998-5:202X. Also, UK decisions on the status of informative annexes and inclusion of any NCCI.

The scope of 1998-5 has significantly increased compared to the first generation. It now includes site response analysis and underground structures and more detail in each of the previous sections.

Purpose

EN Eurocodes allow NSBs to produce a standalone National Annex (NA) which contain national choices and application of informative annexes.

The NA to BS EN 1998-5:202X is needed to address national choices in the BS ENs.
