Scope

The NA gives national choices on Nationally Determined Parameters as described in EN 1998-1-1:202x. Also, UK decisions on the status of informative annexes and inclusion of any NCCI.

The 1st generation EN 1998-1 has been split into two parts (EN 1998-1-1 and EN 1998-1-2). Part 1-1- relates to general requirements for all seismic design, and includes significant additional information (related to seismic hazard, pushover analysis, displacement based design, and others) compared to the same corresponding aspects in the first generation EN1998-1

Purpose

EN Eurocodes allow NSBs to produce a standalone National Annex (NA) which contain national choices and application of informative annexes.

The NA to BS EN 1998-1-1:202X , is needed to address national choices in the BS ENs.
