PNW 22H-319 ED1: Energy Storage Power Converter (ESPC) Sub-System for use in Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) - Part 3: Method of specifying the performance and test requirements

Scope

This part 3 of IEC 63285 covers the Energy Storage Power Converter (ESPC) for use in Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) as defined by IEC 62933 series.

This document covers the method of specifying the performance and test requirements.

This document establishes the performance and test requirements applied to all types and architectures of an Energy Storage Power Converter (ESPC) for use in Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS).

The ESPC is either connected through an interface to the utility grid or is isolated from the utility grid. The ESPC is connected to a single DC port and integrates one or more AC ports.

Purpose

To prepare the part 3 of the standard series, for specification of performance and test requirements,
for the Power Converter Sub-System (PCSS) of a grid-connected or off-grid EESS using electrical
energy storage sub-system. The other parts will be started pending the finalisation of this part 3.
