Including terms and definitions, test conditions, marking and designation, requirements and corresponding test methods for discharge capacity, low-temperature charging, low-voltage long-term storage, etc.
This document applies to secondary sodium ion cells and batteries used in electrical energy storage systems.Examples of appliances that are within the scope of this document are:
– telecommunications,
– central emergency lighting and alarm systems,
– stationary engine starting,
– photovoltaic systems,
In recent years, the industrialization process of secondary sodium batteries has significantly accelerated. Many countries are vigorously developing or reserving secondary sodium battery technology and have made significant progress. In China alone, more than 30 sodium ion battery companies have developed related battery products and have been applied in fields such as power base station energy storage, electric bicycles, data centers, and low energy industrial forklifts. Electrical energy storage systems will be the largest application field of secondary sodium batteries. In terms of electrical performance, secondary sodium batteries are superior to secondary lithium batteries in high and low temperature discharge, low temperature charging, and low voltage long-term storage, etc. At present, there is no specific standard for evaluating the performance of secondary cells and batteries used in electrical energy storage systems. There is an urgent need to develop a relevant international standard - IEC XXXXX "Secondary cells and batteries containing alkaline or other non-acid electrolytes - secondary sodium cells and batteries for use in electrical energy storage systems". The establishment and implementation of relevant standards will effectively promote the improvement of the performance evaluation of secondary sodium batteries for electrical energy storage systems, and improve the technical level of electrical energy storage systems and batteries.
This project is not a horizontal project. It does not involve safety (Guideline 104), EMC (Guideline 107), environment (Guideline 109), and quality assurance (Guideline 102)
