CIB - NWIP to revise EN 13799:2022 LPG equipment and accessories - Contents gauges for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) pressure vessels

Scope

This document specifies minimum requirements for design and testing of contents gauges,
which are directly connected to LPG transportable pressure vessels, LPG drums, LPG cylinders
and static LPG pressure vessels above 0,5 l water capacity excluding those used for automotive
containers. 
This document includes minimum requirements for the safe interchangeability of telemetry
equipment, which is either integral in or additional to the contents gauge.
This document does not apply to refineries or other process plants.

 

Purpose

In the absence of HAS assessment contract during 2022, and in order to ensure its reference under the ADR 2023, a decision was made (Decision 07/2022) to publish EN 13799 without positive HAS assessment. As a result EN 13799:2022 was not cited under the OJEU.  CEN/TC 286 is now requesting TC approval to create a new project to revise EN 13799:2022 to address previous HAS comments and work towards obtaining a positive HAS assessment and to fulfil Standardisation request, M/601, as regards pressure equipment and assemblies in support  of Directive 2014/68/EU, replacing M/071, with a deadline to complete by 31st December 2026.
