This standard is applicable to the design, manufacture and acceptance of galley grey water grease separator of ships.
Galley grey water grease separator of ships is used to deal with the galley grey water produced by personnel on the ship and offshore platform, and to remove the animal and plant grease, food residues, detergents and other polluting substances in the galley grey water to the greatest extent. After treatment, galley grey water can either be discharged overboard or transported to the marine sewage treatment plant for further treatment and discharge. Currently, most ships have included grey water (including kitchen grey water, washing grey water, etc.) into their sewage treatment requirements. MARPOL Annex IV and its guidelines, which are being revised, will add requirements for online monitoring performance indicators such as turbidity and flow rate for domestic sewage discharge, and upgrade the requirements for certification. This will inevitably bring about the need to improve the processing efficiency and product technology of galley grey water grease separator of ships. We have noticed the dilemma of poor sewage treatment results due to product problems mentioned in MEPC 71/INF.22 Netherlands and PPR6/14 Norway. The standard is expected to provide useful input during the pre-treatment stage of grease greywater. This standard is committed to unifying the classification and marking, performance, test methods, inspection rules and delivery preparation requirements of galley grey water grease separator of ships worldwide, providing a basis for product design, manufacturing and acceptance.
