PNW 46A-1668 ED1 Electrical test methods ? Polarization directivity of radiating cable

Scope

This part of IEC 61196 applies to radiating cables. It specifies a test method for determining the polarization directivity of radiating cables for use in multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems.

Purpose

MIMO technology has been used widely in 5G because it can greatly improve channel capacity and the data transfer rate.

In tunnel or similar environments, MIMO communication can be realized by laying two or moreradiating cables.

Experiences verified that the data transfer rate of 2T2R formed by two radiating cables can improve at least 80% comparing with only one radiating cable.
