PNW 10-1214 ED1 Interpretation of Dissolved Gas Analysis in natural and synthetic esters

Scope

Preparation of a new IS on interpretation of Dissolved Gas Analysis in natural and synthetic esters

Purpose

During the 2019 TC10 Plenary Meeting (10/1103/RM), German delegation made the proposal for preparing a guide for gaschromatographic analysis (DGA) and evaluation of ester insulating liquids employed in electrical transformers. It was emphasized the importance to have available DGA interpretation reference for ester liquids for their large diffusion and also considering the activities already in progress in CIGRE and IEEE. In the same meeting, TC 10 - considering this proposal needed of further clarification - approved the decision to form an AhG (AhG40) for preparing Term of Reference (ToR) for the same proposal concerning the possible future development of a new IS for DGA in ester liquids and for dissolved gases interpretation guidelines. The ToR was discussed at the 2021 IEC TC10 Plenary Meeting (10/1148/RM) and at the 2023 IEC TC10 Plenary Meeting (10/1181/RM) it was decided to prepare a new IS for interpretation DGA analysis on natural and synthetic esters. This project was allocated to WG45 and Ms. Atanasova-Höhlein (DE) was appointed as Convenor.
