Adoption of PWI XXXXX (EN 16941-3) "On-site non-potable water systems — Part 3: Performance test procedure for evaluating the quality of water to be reused"

Scope

This European Standard specifies the requirements and gives recommendations for the testing of treatment procedures for water to be reused on site as non-potable water.

Purpose

Ecology and sustainability are goals of any water management. In this connection rainwater and greywater harvesting, treatment and use reduce the potable water demand and the discharge of water.

On-site collection and use of treated rainwater and greywater cover a variety of applications like toilet flushing, laundry, irrigation, climate control of buldings, cleaning, etc. at private and rented properties, residential areas, community developments, industrial sites, hotels, streets, parks, golf courses, theme parks, car parks, stadia, etc.

The diversity of reused water application methods requires prodcedures for the evaluation of treatment systems to validate the achieved water quality
