Scope

This Technical Specification specifies the terms, duties and ratings, conditions, performance, tests and inspections, rating plate and other requirements relating to the adjustable speed pumped storage system.

Purpose

Nearly 30 years have passed since the world's first adjustable pumped storage power system appeared in Japan. After that, a total of 25 adjustable speed pumped storage generator-motors commissioned until end of 2021, 16 in Japan and 9 in other regions.
